Etymology
From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Albanian *tsikā, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European *ḱẽi (“to sharpen”). Compare Armenian սուր (sur, “sharp; knife”).[1] Compare Illyrian *sika. Thought to be the source of Latin sica (“dagger”). Also compare German Degen, Old Armenian դակու (daku, “adze, axe”).
