[edit]From Proto-Balto-Slavic *tuskjas, from Proto-Indo-European *tews-. Related to Latvian tukšs, Russian то́щий (tóščij), Polish czczy, Finnish tyhjä, English thost, Persian تهی, Avestan 𐬙𐬎𐬯𐬆𐬥 (tusən), Sanskrit तुच्छ्य (tucchya).
