From Proto-Nuristani *ungatraká, diminutive of *ungatrá, likely from Proto-Indo-Iranian *Hángas (limb) (whence Sanskrit अङ्ग (áṅga)) + *-tram (instrument suffix), from Proto-Indo-European *h₂eng- (corner) + *-trom (instrument suffix).
