Etymology[edit]
From Proto-Nuristani *ungatraká, diminutive of *ungatrá, likely from Proto-Indo-Iranian *Hángas (“limb”) (whence Sanskrit अङ्ग (áṅga)) + *-tram (“instrument suffix”), from Proto-Indo-European *h₂eng- (“corner”) + *-trom (“instrument suffix”).
