Etymology

From Proto-Albanian *werā or *werwā, perhaps from Proto-Indo-European *h₁wer- (to be wide, spacious) (or derivative *h₁wer-u-) and thereby cognate to Sanskrit उरु (urú, wide), वरस् (váras, space, width), and Greek ευρύς (evrýs, wide).[1]
