[edit]Inherited from Chagatai یوق (ywq /yōq/), from Proto-Common Turkic *yōq, from Proto-Turkic *yōk (“no; is not, there is not”). Cognate with Uyghur يوق / yoq / йоқ (yoq); Turkmen ýōk, Azerbaijani yox, Turkish yok; Old Turkic 𐰖𐰸 (y¹q̊¹ /yoq/, “no; is not, there is not”); etc.
