From χτένι (chténi) (with change of gender), from Byzantine Greek χτένι (khténi), κτένι(ν) (kténi(n)), from Koine Greek κτένιον (kténion), a diminutive of Ancient Greek κτείς (kteís), κτένος (kténos).
