[edit]From *buy(u)ruq "order", from Proto-Turkic *buyur- (“to give order”).
Compare with Old Turkic 𐰉𐰆𐰖𐰺𐰸 (buyruq /b¹uy¹r¹q̊¹/, “order”, noun); Kazakh бұйрық (būiryq, “order”), Kyrgyz буйрук (buyruk), Uzbek buyruq, Uyghur بۇيريق (buyryq), Turkmen buýruk, Turkish buyruk (“order”).
