Etymology[edit]
From the root ܠܘܫ (lwš, “to knead, mix; to weld, solder, braze”), whence also ܠܐܵܫܵܐ (lāšā, “to knead , to work and press into a mass (usually with the hands)”), ܠܝܵܫܵܐ (liāšā, “to knead , to work and press into a mass usually with the hands, to work by repeated pressure with the knuckles into a well-mixed mass (like dough)”).[1][2] See Armenian լավաշ (lavaš) for more.
