Etymology
[edit]Inherited from Prakrit 𑀔𑀼𑀁𑀝 (khuṃṭa) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-), from Sanskrit *खुण्ट (khuṇṭa), perhaps related to क्षोड (kṣoḍa, “peg”).[1] Cognate with Haryanvi खूटा (khūṭā).
