[edit]Inherited from Proto-Dravidian *ir-aṇ-ṭu (“two”). Cognate with Tamil இரண்டு (iraṇṭu), Malayalam രണ്ട് (raṇṭŭ), Kannada ಎರಡು (eraḍu), Telugu రెండు (reṇḍu), Tulu ಎರಡ್ (eraḍŭ).
