  • This grapheme is appended to the right side of a consonant, and it changes the syllable from /◌a/ to /◌ʷa/ or /◌ᵛɐ/ or /◌ᵝ̞ɐ/.

e.g. സ (IPA:/sɐ/) becomes സ്വ (IPA:/sʷɐ).
