Etymology

From Sanskrit चक्री (cakrī, literally “one who has a discus”); probably via Old Khmer ចក្ក្រី (cakkrī), ចក្ក្រិ (cakkri), ចក្ក្រិយ (cakkriya). Cognate with Modern Khmer ចក្រី (cakkrəy).
