Particularly: “Not given etymology by STEDT (tuʼ "try to make like; mimic; rival"), while Luce gives Old Chinese 對 (OC *tuːbs, “to correspond to”) and Tibetan དོ་ (do), དོད (dod, “equivalent”) as cognates, as well as grouping the word etymologically together with တူ (tu, “to be alike”).[1]”
