- As the speaker had been living in Hyesan (Yanggang province) for quite some time past her childhood, her Korean seems influenced by more southern varieties of Hamgyong Korean. This is clear by her use of 지비 (-jibi) throughout the interview, which traditionally wasn't used in northern-Hamgyong speaking areas.
