Etymology[edit]
Cognate with Dolgan дьактар. Possibly from an Iranian source, compare Persian دختر (doxtar, “daughter, girl”). If true, it would make this word cognate with English daughter. Also note Tocharian A ckācar and Tocharian B tkācer, both meaning "daughter".
