Yakut[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Cognate with Dolgan дьактар. Possibly from an Iranian source, compare Persian دختر (doxtar, daughter, girl). If true, it would make this word cognate with English daughter. Also note Tocharian A ckācar and Tocharian B tkācer, both meaning "daughter".

дьахтар (jaqtar)

    Hypernym: улахан (ulaqan, adult)
  2. (colloquial) wife (cf. Eng. woman)
