քաղեմ (kʻałem)

  1. to pick, to pluck up, to take away; to draw, to extract
    սկսաւ ոգի նորա քաղիլ ի նմանէsksaw ogi nora kʻałil i nmanēhe began to faint away
    լոյս իմ քաղիloys im kʻałimy life is consuming
    քաղել զոգիս, զշունչ ուրուքkʻałel zogis, zšunčʻ urukʻto keep in suspense, to amuse, to keep at bay
    քաղել բանս ի բերանոյ ուրուքkʻałel bans i beranoy urukʻto catch something out of one's mouth; (figuratively) to get, to obtain his secret surreptitiously
  2. to gather, to gather together, to collect, to assemble, to amass
  3. to construct a building tapering from bottom to top
