Borrowed from Classical Persian بازو (bāzū, “arm”), from Old Persian 𐎲𐎠𐏀𐎢 (bāzu), from Proto-Iranian *baHjúh, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *bʰaHȷ́ʰúš, from Proto-Indo-European *bʰeh₂ǵʰus (“arm”). Doublet of बाँह (bā̃h) and बाहु (bāhu). Cognate with Kannada ಬಾಜು (bāju).
