Etymology[edit]
From Deccani [Term?], from Marathi भाड (bhāḍ, “profits made from prostituting others”), from Sanskrit भाटक (bhāṭaka, “rent”) + Marathi or Hindustani کَھاؤ (khāo) / खाऊ (khāū, “to eat”); literally, "the one who gobbles the prostitution fees".
