  1. a plant, Cordia cochinchinensis, of the family Ehretiaceae.
  2. cotton yarn mixed with dammar gum and rubber seed oil, used as a plug for a hole in a boat.

From Proto-Tai *ʰmanᴬ (sterile). Cognate with Lao ໝັນ (man), Zhuang maen.
