From Pali aṅga (constituent; factor; member; part) or Sanskrit अङ्ग (aṅga, body; component; constituent; limb; etc); perhaps via Old Khmer ʼaṅga, ʼaṅa, ʼã (member, part; article, item, thing; body, person). Cognate with Thai องค์ (ong). Compare Modern Khmer អង្គ (ʼɑng).
