From 暗黒舞踏 (あんこくぶとう, ankoku butō), “‘dark dance’”) = 暗黒 (あんこく, ankoku), “‘dark, darkness’”) + 舞踏 (ぶとう, butō), “‘dance’”), from 暗黒舞踊 (あんこくぶよう, ankoku buyō), “‘darkness dance’”), by replacing 舞踊 (ぶよう, buyō), “‘(classical Japanese) dance’”) with the archaic 舞踏 (ぶとう, butō), “‘dance’”).^[1]
