Etymology[edit]
From Arabic شَعْب (šaʕb, “a people”) and Arabic عَزّ (ʕazz, “to be mighty or glorious”). Also possibly from Persian شهباز (šahbâz, “royal falcon”), from شاه (shāh, “king”), + باز (bāz, “hawk, falcon”).
