This template generates:
{{lookfrom|word}}[edited to stop module error]
Compare this to {{prefixlanglemma}}, which now looks like this after I just spruced it up:
{{prefixlanglemma}} is superior because it is limited to terms in the current language, but it takes a language code when {{lookfrom}} does not. I propose that we delete the current {{lookfrom}} template, and move {{prefixlanglemma}} to {{lookfrom}} while simultaneously using a bot to add a language code to all invocations. - Only 3 entries use
{{lookfrom}}with a first parameter that could be mistaken for a language code. These are art, air and ear. We can just remove the parameter from these entries, as it's the same as the page name. - I've edited the template so it ignores the first parameter if it is 2 or 3 characters long. It's possible that there are a scattering of entries with hyphenated language codes that will break, but any breakage will be brief in duration.
- Then run the bot and add lang codes to all instances of the template.
- Finally move
{{prefixlanglemma}}over{{lookfrom}}.
- Only 3 entries use

- @This, that and the other I've removed the term parameter from art, air, and ear, and I've run the script over all entries which transclude
{{lookfrom}}(doing a few by hand). There were fewer than I expected, and I can confirm there were none matching hyphenated language codes. Just need you to move the template (as I don't have the permissions). — excarnateSojourner (ta·co) 20:03, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
