User:Conrad.Bot for bot status
[edit]- Nomination: I hereby request the Bot flag for User:Conrad.Bot for the following purpose:
- Bulk link fixing. After the deletion of Wiktionary_appendix:Geologic timescale I ran the pywikibot slowly through my user account, I would like to be able to run it quickly with a bot flag for similar occasions such as the deletion of the Wiktionary: -> Index: redirects.
- Conrad.Irwin 00:19, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- Restated for clarity as "bulk fixing links to allow the deletion of bad redirects." For examples see me running this bot through my sysop account. The sets of links I would like to tackle are the few remaining Special:Allpages/Wiktionary Appendix: and the Wiktionary: ____ Index pages. Conrad.Irwin 21:07, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

- And while the stated purpose of this bot is only bulk link-fixing, I equally support any other use of this bot that Conrad might consider uncontroversial. —RuakhTALK 22:14, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Oppose
[edit]- Oppose EncycloPetey 21:29, 17 April 2008 (UTC) ...but I might be willing change my vote if I knew what "fixing" entailed. --EncycloPetey 21:29, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- I believe Conrad's talking about doing mass link fixes, such as this one. -Atelaes λάλει ἐμοί 21:32, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
Abstain
[edit]- Abstain. I'm not opposing, because I trust Conrad.Irwin. But I cannot vote for a proposal that includes the words "for similar occasions such as". If the wording were more specific, I'd probably support.—msh210℠ 17:28, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
Decision
[edit]- Despite the rewording midstream, I'll take the liberty of declaring this passed 9–1–1 (including the proposer).—msh210℠ 17:52, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
- Made it so. SemperBlotto 21:38, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
