Usage notes

Even though f-szám literally translates into f-number, a related concept, in Hungarian it is primarily used to mean f-stop, a value that can be set for each exposure. When referring to the maximum light-gathering ability of the lens (f-number), which is inherent and not adjustable, fényerő should be used instead. However, there is some confusion as to the correct use of these terms even among professionals, and in practice, they are often used interchangeably.
