Etymology[edit]
raita (“track”) + -o (< *raiδoi < *raitoi);[1] an obscured derivation from raita (“track”). Has dialectal variants like rairo, raivo, raito, which support an older form *raiδo(i); the literary form is from a dialect in which *δ > l.
