Chemical element
Zr
Previous: ytri (Y)
Next: niobi (Nb)

Etymology[edit]

Ultimately from New Latin zirconium, with the suffix -um removed as with most chemical elements. An extra i is added to ease pronunciation and to preserve an appearance that is more representative of the chemical symbol.
