From Proto-Albanian *anTā, from Proto-Indo-European *h₂(o)nh₁- ‎(breath). Close to Hittite anza ‎(desire), Ancient Greek (Hes.) ἀντάς πνοάς ‎(antás pnoás) and Old Norse andi ‎(spirit, soul)[1]. Possibly related to ndiej.
