Etymology

Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter 2 should be a valid language, etymology language or family code; the value "pregrc" is not valid. See WT:LOL, WT:LOL/E and WT:LOF.. Longstanding tradition holds it to derive from αἰόλος (aiólos, fast moving, nimble) + οὐρά (ourá, tail); while it has the feel of folk etymology, it may nonetheless be the case. Has also been compared to Latin viverra (ferret) and Lithuanian vaiveris (polecat).
