From μνήμων (mnḗmōn, remembering) +‎ -ικός (-ikós, relative to); μνήμων (mnḗmōn) from μνάομαι (mnáomai, to be mindful, remember) (from Proto-Indo-European *men- (to mind; to think)) + -μων (-mōn, suffix forming adjectives and agent nouns).
