[edit]Inherited from Byzantine Greek τίποτα (típota), a commonly used variant form of τίποτε (típote). Both forms from the Ancient Greek τίποτε (típote, “what maybe?”), also as phrase τί ποτε (tí pote).[1] Sense "something" is Hellenistic.[2]
