Etymology

[edit]

From аўта- (aŭta-) +‎ мы́йня (mýjnja), further from мыць (mycʹ) +‎ -ня (-nja). Most likely influenced by Polish automyjnia, otherwise the expected East Slavic form would be *аўтамы́йка (*aŭtamýjka), which compare Russian автомо́йка (avtomójka) and Ukrainian автоми́йка (avtomýjka).
