Etymology[edit]

From бурдюг (burdjuh, small dwelling), which may be a variation on бурдю́к (burdjúk, waterskin), itself from Crimean Tatar [Term?]. Cognate with Bulgarian борде́й (bordéj) and Romanian bordei.
