From Old Belarusian девѧносто (devjanosto), from Old East Slavic девѧносъто (devęnosŭto), from Proto-Slavic *devę(t)nòsъto, from Proto-Balto-Slavic *newin(t)śimta, from Proto-Indo-European *h₁néwn̥dḱomt. Compare Russian девяно́сто (devjanósto) and Ukrainian дев'яно́сто (devʺjanósto).
