[edit]Cognate with Kazakh жігерлі (jıgerlı, “active, vigorous”), Kyrgyz жигердүү (jigerdüü, “brave, valiant; active”). Ultimately derived from Persian جگر (jegar) in the sense of "spirit, courage".
