Etymology[edit]

Derived by folk etymology from зли́день (zlýdenʹ), where the ending "ень" has been mistakenly identified as the suffix -ень (-enʹ), and has been replaced by the suffix -ар (-ar). Cognate with Russian злыда́р (zlydár).
