Etymology
[edit]From *кра (*kra, “ice floe”) + -ига (-iha, “diminutive suffix”). Inherited from Old East Slavic кра (kra), derived from икра́ (ikrá), from Proto-Slavic *jьkrà. Cognate with archaic Russian кра (kra) and Old Czech kra.
