Etymology

From Proto-Slavic *kъrčagъ, either from Proto-Slavic *kъrkъ (cervix) / *kъrkati (to gulp) + -ег (-eg) or of Oghur origin akin to Hungarian korsó (jug). Borrowed into Albanian kërçak.
