[edit]From Proto-Turkic *soŋ. Cognate with Kazakh соң (soñ), Kyrgyz соң (soŋ), Crimean Tatar soñ, Karaim soň, Kumyk сонг (soñ), Bashkir һуң (huñ), Tatar соң (soñ), Azerbaijani son, Turkish son, Uzbek so'ng, Uyghur song, Western Yugur soŋ (“end”), etc.
