    Borrowed from Ottoman Turkish فنجان (fincan), borrowed from Arabic فِنْجَان (finjān), borrowed from Classical Persian پِنْگَان (pingān), possibly borrowed from Classical Syriac ܦܝܢܟܐ (pīnəḵā), from Aramaic פִּינְכָא (pīnəkā), borrowed from Ancient Greek πίναξ (pínax).
