Inherited from Proto-Turkic *kōĺ- (“pair, couple, to join, unite”).[1] Cognate with Chuvash хуш (huš, “to add, attach”), Uzbek qoʻshmoq (“to add”), Southern Altai кожор (kožor, “to add”), Turkish koşmak, etc.
