Inherited from Proto-Turkic *kōĺ- (pair, couple, to join, unite).[1] Cognate with Chuvash хуш (huš, to add, attach), Uzbek qoʻshmoq (to add), Southern Altai кожор (kožor, to add), Turkish koşmak, etc.
