Etymology[edit]

Either via Ancient Greek Ἀβραάμ(Abraám) or via Classical Syriac ܐܒܪܗܡ(ʼAḇrāhām), from Hebrew אַבְרָהָם(ʼAḇrāhām). The spelling Աբրաամ(Abraam) was certainly from Ancient Greek and was considered more scholarly.
