From Urartian 𒆳𒍮𒇻𒄣𒌑𒂊 (KUR.ṣu-lu-qu-ú-e /Ṣuluqu/), attested in an inscription by Argishti II. According to J̌ahukyan, it may have been borrowed into Urartian from an Eastern Iranian (perhaps the Scythian) cognate of Shughni цулуқ (culuq, upright, vertical, steep).[1]
