Old Armenian
Etymology
From Proto-Indo-European *sm̥-uk-, from *sem- (“together”) and *ewk- (“be accustomed, learn”), whence ուսանիմ (usanim), + -ին (-in). Thus, the original meaning of the compound is “accustomed to each other” or similar. Possibly cognate with Latin uxor.[1][2]
