The original spelling is դրաւշ (drawš), from Middle Iranian. Compare Parthian 𐫅𐫡𐫜𐫢 (drfš /⁠drafš⁠/), Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (dlpš /⁠drafš⁠/), Persian درفش (derafš), and see the latter for more.
