Etymology[edit]

From Pontic Greek τσιφίνι (tsifíni), τσιφίν (tsifín). Doublet of ճփնի (čpʻni). The form ծեփիկ (cepʻik) is probably reshaped folk-etymologically as ծեփել (cepʻel) +‎ -իկ (-ik).
