Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Indo-European *ǵʰéyōm. The genitive ձեան (jean) is from the Proto-Indo-European genitive *ǵʰi-m-ós. Related to ձմեռն (jmeṙn, winter) and ձմեթ (jmetʿ).
