Old Armenian

Etymology

According to Martirosyan, form յ- (y-) +‎ (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Armenian *(p)oləw, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European *polh₁u-s. Cognate with Ancient Greek πολύς (polús), Sanskrit पुरु (purú). See also ալաւունք (alawunkʻ).
