In the positive singular the phrase is simple, with the occasional inversion to דאָ איז (do iz), but the plural and negative forms see a great deal of dialectal variation. "There isn't..." may be rendered:

In the plural, i.e. "there are", איז (iz, is) becomes pluralized to זענען (zenen, are) with the alternate form זײַנען (zaynen). Thus we encounter in the positive:
