Compare German erlangen. By surface analysis, דער־ (der-) +‎ לאַנגען (langen). Also compare semantically German langen ((southern) to reach, to pass), which may have superseded the now-obsolete לאַנגען (langen).

דערלאַנגען (derlangen) (past participle דערלאַנגט (derlangt))

  1. to reach
  2. to pass, to hand over
  3. (with אַ קלאַפּ (a klap)) to punch, to hit
